On January 15, a Maldivian delegation led by Mr. Mohamed Naja, together with Mr. Gao Xiang, General Manager of the Chinese partner company, and Mr. Ji Ruilin, General Manager of Henan No.5 Construction Overseas Company, paid a special visit to Longxiang Electric’s Huaiyang production base. The group conducted an in-depth inspection of transformer and switchgear complete sets of products and jointly explored new avenues for cooperation in energy equipment.
Secretary Chang Jiazhong of Longxiang Electric Group Co., Ltd., accompanied by management consultant Zhang Xinde, Deputy General Manager Jia Donglong of Longxiang New Energy Co., Ltd., and Zhu Jia Zhe, Manager of the Sales Department at Longxiang Education, warmly welcomed the delegation. As a company listed on the New Third Board (stock code: 836070) and a key supplier to the State Grid, Longxiang Electric has been deeply engaged in the power transmission and distribution equipment sector for over two decades. The company has developed a comprehensive product portfolio that includes amorphous alloy transformers, intelligent dry-type transformers, switchgear rated up to 40.5 kV, and packaged substations. The delegation paid close attention to these products’ highly efficient, energy-saving features as well as their stable and reliable performance.
The inspection team visited Longxiang Electric’s state-of-the-art production workshop and testing center, where they observed firsthand key manufacturing processes such as transformer core winding, coil winding, and switchgear assembly. Jia Donglong, Deputy General Manager of Longxiang New Energy, provided a detailed introduction to the company’s advanced three-dimensional core-winding technology and energy-saving processes. Thanks to their advantages of low loss and low noise, this product series has been included in the National Catalog for Promoting High-Efficiency and Energy-Saving Distribution Transformers and is widely used in various power grid projects and new-energy initiatives. In response to the Maldives’ unique environment characterized by high temperatures and high salt spray, the technical team’s customized corrosion-resistant solutions received high praise from the inspection team.
In the high-voltage testing laboratory, the delegation observed firsthand key procedures such as withstand voltage tests on switchgear and partial discharge detection on transformers, and expressed high praise for Longxiang Electric’s comprehensive quality control system. Mr. Mohamed Naja stated that the Maldives is currently advancing grid modernization and integrating renewable energy sources, and urgently needs efficient and durable transmission and distribution equipment to support infrastructure upgrades. Longxiang Electric’s product strength and technological expertise are truly impressive.
At the symposium, Secretary Chang Jiazhong introduced Longxiang Electric’s R&D achievements in areas such as photovoltaic-specific transformers and energy-storage equipment, emphasizing the company’s accumulated expertise in green technologies. Mr. Ji Ruilin, General Manager of Henan Fifth Construction Overseas Company, stated that Fifth Construction has extensive experience in power engineering projects both domestically and internationally. He expressed willingness to leverage the company’s strong project execution capabilities as a bridge to collaborate with Longxiang Electric’s superior equipment offerings, thereby providing the Maldives with an integrated “equipment + construction + service” solution that benefits all parties involved.
Mr. Mohamed Naja shared the local energy development plan: As an archipelagic nation, the Maldives is vigorously promoting renewable energy replacement projects on more than 160 outer islands. The plan aims to reduce reliance on fossil fuels by deploying a hybrid solar-diesel grid system and achieve the strategic goal of generating 33% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2028. Mr. Gao Xiang, General Manager and representative of the Chinese partner, expressed his hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to bring Longxiang Electric’s high-quality products and technologies into the Maldivian market, thereby supporting the upgrade of the local transmission and distribution network and accelerating the transition to green energy.
This business visit has established an important bridge for Longxiang Electric to access the South Asian market. As a science and technology innovation enterprise and a demonstration base for energy conservation and emission reduction in Henan Province, Longxiang Electric will take this collaboration as a starting point to further strengthen its synergistic cooperation with the Maldives and Henan Fifth Construction. Leveraging its own technological strengths and manufacturing capabilities, Longxiang Electric will provide more targeted power transmission and distribution solutions for overseas markets. Looking ahead, the company aims to engage in substantive cooperation in areas such as island grid upgrades and supporting new-energy power stations, using high-quality equipment and professional services to deepen and solidify energy cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, and jointly write a new chapter of green and sustainable development.
